Thankful

Yes, it is a bit late but I am doing it now.
My life leaves a lot to be desired. It's hard to get through the day, most of the time. But I have so much to be thankful for.
I am thankful for my family.
I am thankful for my Father, for providing food, shelter, clothing, and love. I am thankful for every time he calls me his Princess, and every time he "falls" over to kiss my cheek. I am thankful for his crooked smile, his graying hair, his warm brown eyes, his stubble. I am thankful for his cheesy comments, his sense of humor, his kindness, his loyalty.
I am thankful for my Mother, for being my role model, my partner-in-crime, and my best friend. I am thankful for her being the perfect height for hugging, and being a good sport when I make fun of her. I am thankful for her smile, her laugh, and her funky dance moves. I am thankful for every time we break into song, for every time we finish each others sentences, and I am thankful for the kitchen, for Savers, and for our word games.
I am thankful for my eldest brother, David, for giving me his old games, for looking like John Travolta, for having the bluest eyes I've ever seen. I am thankful to him for encouraging my dreams to become a writer. I'm grateful for every time he makes Kimchi-Chige, and for trying to teach me how to play Dungeons and Dragons.
I am thankful for my second eldest brother, Daniel, for being the D2 to my R2. I am thankful for all the music that he shares with me, for the way he laughs, and for his ironclad determination to get what he wants. I am thankful for his dramatic gestures and deep singing voice. I am thankful for his example.
I am thankful for my third eldest brother, Damien, for sharing my love of Bones, for crying with me as we watched Clannad, and for sharing an October birthday. I am thankful for how many times he changes his hair, how much he's grown the past few years and for sharing my interest in Anime, Manga, and the Japanese language. I am thankful for every time he replaces L's with R's, and for teaching me about classical music and composers.
I am thankful for my sister, Raquel, for playing Barbies with me when we were supposed to be cleaning our room. I am thankful for her being there when I needed someone to talk to, and for sharing the crying thing with me. I am thankful for German and Japanese. I am thankful for every time we watched movies, read books, or listened to music together. I am thankful for her spunk, her unique clothes and hair, her charity, and her heart of gold. I am thankful for dancing, for laughing, and for breaking into song. I am thankful for her being more than my sister, and being my confidant, my protector, my role model, my partner-in-crime, and my best friend.
I am thankful for my younger brother, Dante, for his mischievous chuckle, his laughing blue eyes, and of course for the blue hat he never takes off. I'm thankful for his obscure references to South Park, for all the music he's shared with me, and for singing with me when a song we like plays on the radio. I am thankful for his word games, for iPod charades, for every time he reduces me to a stammering idiot, for Mythbusters, and for camping in the family room every night. I'm thankful for his creative ways to tickle me, his dopey grinning face, and how he interacts with Devon.
I am thankful for my youngest brother, Devon, for letting me read his stories, for roleplaying with me before I was too cool for Gaia, and for playing all those Legend of Zelda games with me. I am thankful for fighting over the remote, for his razor-sharp wit, and for all the quotes of his that I've had to write down. I am thankful for his brown-black hair and dark eyes. I'm thankful for his dance moves and the way he pretends to bite people. I am thankful for the way he makes me laugh.
I am thankful for my friends
I am thankful for Sara, for always being there when my world fell apart, even when hers was in shambles as well. I am thankful for her evil chuckle, for every time she speaks Japanese and I have no idea what she said, and for her drive to do her best. I am thankful for One Piece, Kenshin, and Trigun roleplays, for Anime, Manga, and Dramas. I am thankful for gmail (Yes, Master; Good slave), for her stories, and for inside information. I am thankful for her smile, for her reassuring presence, and for every time she drops in for a visit when she isn't busy at college. I am thankful for sleepovers, for Labyrinth, and yes even for that game of Curses. I am thankful for her being more than my friend...and for being my sister.
I am thankful for Lyssa, for her funny faces, for her amazing talents, for her humor, and for her kindness. I am thankful for Japanese, for Book Club, and for our roleplays. I am thankful for fighting over glow-in-the-dark puzzle pieces of Zoro, for plotting and laughing maniacally about Four Sisters 2 and Four Sisters, modern version. I'm thankful for her having "more hair than Jesus", and being able to complain about it with me. I am thankful for One Piece, for that nutty Inuyasha roleplay with Esther, and for her being an overall wonderful friend.
I am thankful for Andi, for writing on my leg during Psychology, for trusting me enough to confide in me, and for dragging me to the ground during lunch. I am thankful for the nagichilla, for zombie dreams, for two-inch-tall mass murderers, for Phwaff, Frazz, and all her other funny words, for lifesavers, and for drowning in grass. I am thankful for walking around the school during lunch, having no idea where we're going. I am thankful for competing for higher scores on Psychology tests (even though she always wins), for The Pirates of Penzance, for making me laugh, and for all the birthday notes.
I am thankful for Esther, for being my sister, for stealing pens out of my hair, for crazy comics, for letting me read her stories, for Corduroy (or however you spell that), for go-fish, for dark mages, for Kirby, for George, for Chris, and for World Domination.
I am thankful for Rose, for nature, for Geometry, for conspiracy's about Huck Finn and Cousin It, for sharing her characters and drawings and stories with me. I am thankful for her wacky curly hair and for her being willing to join that hot dog eating contest with me.
I am thankful for so much. I began this journal, just to wish everybody a happy (belated) Thanksgiving, but then all of my thanks just came pouring out.
Well, Happy Thanksgiving, to all who celebrate this holiday. You know what else I'm thankful for? Turkey, Pecan Pie, homemade gravy and mashed potatoes, rolls, stuffing, cranberry-orange relish--Ah! there's to much!!
